The problem

Where project control slips.

Budgets checked too late.

Overruns show up at month end, after the money’s gone.

Committed spend is invisible.

Orders don’t count until the bill arrives.

Capacity is a guess.

Leave and bank holidays aren’t in the plan, so people get double-booked.

Cost control

Catch an overrun while you can still fix it.

Budget, committed and actual spend side by side, updated as the work happens, on one shared project record.

  • Split each project into phases, each with its own budget
  • Approved purchase orders count as committed spend against the budget, so overruns show before the bill arrives
  • Approved time and costs land on cost-to-date straight away, shown against the phase budget
  • Set budget, hours and phase thresholds, and project managers are alerted in Arvia and by email when they are crossed
